Sarcasm of the Tongue Can Be Harmful to Your Home or Relationship.

By Apostle Cathryn Ndyabagye

Whether parents to children, spouse to spouse, spouse to children, sarcasm and negative comments are 'not of God'.

Let me show you...

Psalm 59:7 Behold, they belch out [insults] with their mouths; swords [of sarcasm, ridicule, slander, and lies] are in their lips, for who, they think, hears us?

According Free Dictionary Online Sarcasm means:

sarcasm [ˈsɑːkæzəm]

n
1. mocking, contemptuous, or ironic language intended to convey scorn or insult
2. the use or tone of such language

A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound. A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.

Think about it....

If you are sarcasm to your family you are wounding them with words.

The Bible tells us to build each other up.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-12 Good News Translation (GNT) 9 God did not choose us to suffer his anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us in order that we might live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when he comes. 11 And so encourage one another and help one another, just as you are now doing.

Correcting one another in a kind way beats tearing each other down in an abusive way with your tongue!

Not everyone can handle harsh words because harsh words is picking on a person or harassing them. It's exactly the same things as bullying at school!

*Some people have snapped.

*Some people have had nervous breakdowns

*Some people commit suicide

All of these have been caused from abusive words and harshness and discouraging tongues.

Let us build each other up and show respect to each other and bring peace in our homes and love. So we won't be accountable for hurting each other inside!

Sarcasm brings rebellion and hurt, chaos and disruption in our midst...

God is not the author of confusion

1 Corinthians 14:33 Good News Translation (GNT) 33 because God does not want us to be in disorder but in harmony and peace.

Colossians 3:12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Are you being an example of love with your tongue to your family and relationship?

Are you building up, or tearing down with your tongue?

Psalm 39:1 [ The Confession of a Sufferer ] I said, “I will be careful about what I do and will not let my tongue make me sin; I will not say anything while evil people are near.”
