The Veil

By Apostle Cathryn Ndyabagye

We have all been to weddings and saw the groom lift the veil. What does it mean when the groom veil before kissing the bride? Let me share with you about the veil of God...

In the Old Testament, before a man could be with a woman, he had to ask her to open the veil.

In Song of Solomon, the love book and also example of how Christ loves the bride, The Word speaks also of the veil again.

At the Cross when Jesus died, the veil was torn when he died. This meant that he was opening the veil so he could come into our lives.

This example is also true when a couple gets married. To kiss the bride, the couple says their vows and the veil is lifted when the couple is pronounced man and wife.

Remembering the sacredness of the veil and what it means to us in our relationship in God.

Matthew 27:51

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.Hebrews 6:19
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Hebrews 9:3
And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all
