Why, Seek Ye First Works!

By Apostle Cathryn Ndyabagye

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Let's examine this scripture for a minute...

This is one of the most popular scriptures taught in services today.

How many think of the priority in it of how it's worded?  Many really use this scripture backgrounds at time.  Let me explain...

When Jesus said this he was wanting us all to look to God first for all things in faith, and then he would meet our needs.
There is one thing God has shown to me...

God will supply your every need! When we stress with God--and get carried away with worry, not trusting God, how can we say we seek him first if we are not letting go of our worries and giving them to him?

God does not want us to hang onto stress and worry. He wants us to bring everything to him and pray about it all and leave it at the altar, and trust as we wait on the Father.

He also wants us to be righteous before Him. With our armor on, prayed through in the Spirit and lead by the Spirit too. Not living in doubt or sin.

When we live our lives--keep our hands busy with God, and are obedient to the word, we stand in Jesus with our faith alive and working! God will bring favor. AMEN

So we seek God first by talking to him.
We also seek His righteousness in right standing with God. Then he meets our needs. AMEN!

This is why the scripture goes onto point out that when we seek two things GOD and RIGHTEOUSNESS, then God will bring the other things to us. AMEN This is our reward for having faith in God.

When we are patient with God, love Him with all your heart. Give all our needs to him and really trust and expect miracles from Him.

And as we Walk in the Spirit and allow Him to lead us, 'day by day'--WORRY FREE--God will reveal 'His will' to you. And your needs will be met unexpectedly. That is our God! :)
God will give you the desires of your heart. And it may come in a short or a long time.

Many people do not receive from Him right away. He is simply waiting for us to believe Him with our whole life, and to give it ALL to him--The worries, doubts and cares.
He wants us to stand firm and confident in Him. Making sure we are so 'caught up in Him', focused on Him, love and sharing His Word with others.

'Seek Ye First' Works!

Our  biggest desire should be, to please Him. By pleasing God we will not just think of only pleasing ourselves. We will not just  focusing on ' our own needs'.

By putting His Kingdom first, the rest will follow.

Sometimes when we have a financial need and many special needs, sickness, or school needs, or food, etc.
we have plans or goals we set for ourselves, or an idea that we take to God and pray about.

We have to be willing to wait on God, and what if God says NO? Or he makes us wait a long time?

Why does God do this?
He wants us to first prioritize our time with Him, and to learn from him, really hear him in our times of struggle and testing.

To really pray to him until we feel his presence and receive His Glory.

To be dependent on Him, Not dependent on anyone, or anything else. Just in his love.

Standing in the Blood of the lamb, walking in His presence, and making sure our habits are--a real relationship with Him.
'Seek Ye First' Works!
Spending time alone in prayer with Him. Really falling in love with the Saviour! Listening to Him.

Do you hear him speaking to you right now?
After we really learn the priorities of this scripture alone, then we will understand why it's so silly to worry about what we ask him for.

God is wanting to lead us, not the other way around. We need to really let go of our own plans and let God show us what He is bringing to us.

Not planning it out ourselves expecting God just to bless it. What if what you are doing is not his will?
We should not set expectations from God when we need to seek His will and allow him to set His expectations for us.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. So when we just stand in faith hoping and knowing God cares, then we know that through our faith, the mountains will move. AMEN!
When we focuse on what God is showing us, and we will later, see why He says NO sometimes, and sometimes says says 'YES'. It all depends on what is best for us and what God allows.
God may say NO for awhile because he knows we need to grow more inside in some areas, and we are not ready for what he has planned for the near future.

By making us grow first, then we will be more prepared to handle it when he does bring the answers to what we ask.

This is exactly what a father or mother would do for a child when they feel a child is not or are ready for a decision or if they are able to handle it. So, God does this with us too.

God wants us to learn the deep things of God, and then rewards us when we learn them.
Sometimes the 'No' is just 'No'. We must be willing to except that too, with grace and praise to God.
Many want to seek things and money first, and also serve God. Maybe some are so busy about their own goals that they do not see what God is trying to tell them. Like what He wants! It may not be the same approach or the same way people do things.

Isa. 55:6-11 says 6"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return

unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. "

Our wishes and goals can get ahead of God sometimes.

This means dying to selfishness, disciplining ourselves, hearing God, doing what He leads us to do as in: saving souls, teaching the word, keeping busy doing his will, so that we won't have time to worry.

And before you know it, the answer comes!
Is God leading, or are you?
When we just allow God bring the answers to us without having to run after them, and keep busy so we don't worry and fret, then we are relaxed with God being content in the faith.

We are only on this earth temporarily, and God knows our needs. So we stand firm in the faith and God knows just what we need and what is best for us.

Maybe that building we want to build is not what God wants us to do. Maybe the plan we have to go here, or there is not what God wants at this time.

This is why waiting on God is important! Let him show you exactly what he wants you to do. Listen to Him.

If God just handed out everything we wanted, without saying "NO, NOT YET!", then we would not appreciate Him much. We can't take God for granted, and use people to get our way.
Some people covet many things and want everything now. God does not always work that way and surely he does not want you to replace him with people or things.
God knows that people who just want things, end up impatient, and go after it themselves and make lots of mistakes. Many do this today!
It's not our goals and plans that HE wants to be lead by-- He wants to lead us into the supernatural.

He is the lead and we don't tell him what to do. It's His will and voice he wants us to hear!
'Seek Ye First' Works!
When we take our time to grow in God first, and keep our mind on HIM and his work, instead of what we should have or want, we will learn to be more steadfast in God. Walk more in the Spirit, see more miracles and blessings, because we live on simple faith in God.
And, as we go through the rough spots, trials, and waiting time, we can do it with patience, knowing God is the one in control.
Yes, of course he wants to take you to the next level-- and you need to learn first.
Romans 5:3-4 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience And patience, experience; and experience, hope.
Romans 8: 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
We will get our reward when God feels we are ready. At that point, we will appreciate it when, we get them.
Yes, God knows each and everyone of us, and will give you blessings when the first priority is 'Seeking Him and His Righteousness'. Then your answers will follow and he will bring the rest. In His own time!
Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
